Pinguicula ehlersiae (Ixmiquilpan) is a local form of a rather compact, Mexican butterwort species. During the winter months, the plant does not retreat into a rosette, but the leaves are smaller and not as robust in growth as during the summer months. Therefore, year-round warm cultivation on the windowsill or with additional lighting is perfectly possible. Due to its beautiful coloration, P. ehlersiae also visually differs significantly from its sisters - P. esseriana and P. jaumavensis.
