Pinguicula jaumavensis is a rather compact, Mexican butterwort species. During the winter months, the plant does not retract into a rosette, but the leaves are smaller and not as robust in growth as during the summer months. Year-round warm cultivation on a windowsill or under additional lighting is perfectly possible. To this day, experts are divided on whether P. esseriana, jaumavensis, and ehlersiae are independent species or different forms, or variations.
