Pinguicula ehlersiae "type" is a beautiful selection of a rather compact Mexican butterwort species. This cultivar consists of offspring of the plants that originally served for the botanical identification of this species. During the winter months, the plant does not retreat into a rosette, but the leaves are smaller and not as robust in growth as during the summer months. Therefore, year-round warm cultivation on the windowsill or under additional lighting is perfectly possible. Due to its beautiful coloration, P. ehlersiae also visually differs significantly from its sisters - P. esseriana and P. jaumavensis.
