Pinguicula jaumavensis is a rather compact Mexican butterwort species that looks particularly beautiful in small groups. During the winter months, the plant does not really retreat into a rosette, but the non-carnivorous leaves appear significantly smaller than in the summer months. Year-round warm cultivation on the windowsill or with additional lighting is perfectly possible for P. jaumavensis. However, to this day, experts are still divided on whether P. esseriana, P. jaumavensis, and P. ehlersiae are distinct species or different forms or variations.
